This website was updated in Sept 2025. (A lot of it is just the same anyway because not many people found it the first time)

Hi. I play mainly acoustic guitar but dabble with flute, harmonica, bass and keyboards (only one hand). I have recently released my third CD of original material.
Here are some pictures of guitars (well what did you expect? Dogs with sunglasses?). I have a few more but they all look more or less the same. My wife, Hazel, asks how many guitars a person actually needs. The answer 'one more' is getting a bit thin now and besides, we don't have enough space on the walls to hang them. Even so, I recently purchased a Fender Acoustasonic. I don't really play electric guitar but I am going to have to learn now. If you look closely you can see the bits of tape I stuck on the bass to remind me where to put my fingers.
​So this is me. Well it was. This was during the Covid era, when I was making videos in my greenhouse for virtual Open Mic sessions.
​
I look a fair bit older now but I still have most of my own teeth.

The Greenhouse Tapes
Lockdown videos for a Weekly Virtual Open Mic session (Check out Dan Toft Music on Facebook). All recorded with a Canon Power Shot 400 camera. I put the best of them on youTube. Mostly covers but some originals. Some solo and some accompanied by a couple of other guys who look a bit like me. Look on youTube for 'Jon Twigg, The Greenhouse Tapes' (some are quite amusing).
There are links to three of the songs below, but there are more than 20 songs of varying degrees of competence and entertainment value.

For the first 2 albums I created a lyric booklet to go with the CD but for this album I have put the lyrics on the website. You should find them by clicking on the 'About' button at the top of the page.
Once Around The Sun
The second album. A Concept album!
Songs inspired by different seasons and celebrations as the Earth travels around the Sun. Recorded in 2021/2022. A big step up from my first CD.

Under Rainbow Road
The first album. All original songs, each with a different story. Includes 'Clay' a tribute to 'The Potteries' (well, someone had to do it). My first foray into recording and not a bad job at all despite singing into the wrong end of the microphone. Released right at the start of Lockdown so I couldn't play it anywhere.
